Mercedes-Benz completed the first wave of its EV rollout for the 2023 model year, bringing the total to five EQ electric sedans and crossover SUVs. It’s just the beginning, and the EQ nomenclature may be eliminated as early as 2025 as Mercedes phases out internal combustion engines in some markets by 2030. Thus the EQS full-size electric sedan may become the next S-Class. 

With an electric G-Wagen on the way, the EQG, as well as an eSprinter work van slated for 2024, Mercedes’ electrification plan runs the spectrum of its offerings.
