Played like a cheap ukulele —  Yesterday we highlighted a mysterious (and possibly staged) video featuring a major Tesla investor who was “overheard” gabbing about new money flowing into the start-up–perhaps to quiet concerns about the company’s finances and its ability to produce the $50,000-ish Model S. As if on cue–as if part of a campaign, even–Tesla has announced that pre-orders for the Model S have crossed the 1,000 mark. Good for them, though we still can’t help feeling like we’ve been had.
